Over the years, many of our customers have expressed the concern that truly classically started horses are altogether too rare.

The Pennsylvania Riding Academy has begun to concentrate on producing young correct horses for sale. We will offer several young horses throughout the year, and we would ask interested people to check the website regularly, but also to email or call, since some horses may not be ready for the website, but might be available shortly. In some cases, horses can be specifically prepared for buyers.

These horses are either bred here at our farm or are selected as prospects. All prospects are rigorously selected for disposition and trainability first, then for athletic potential. They have undergone a thorough medical exam, including x-rays.

The education of these horses has not been relegated to novice riders or working students, nor hurriedly prepared for auction, but the opposite. They are started by the most experienced FEI riders and are either ridden by Paul Belasik or are directly supervised by him in daily practices.

Our aim is to produce a horse capable of providing a classical riding experience.

Forbito

Forbito is a very well balanced horse both mentally and physically, he loves people and his work, a safe horse with highest potential. Solid 2nd level, beginning to work on collection. Shows talent for upper level work. Vetted with xrays. $35K.

Audaz (Sold)

15.3hh 4 year old Half-Andalusian gelding. This horse is a horse of a lifetime. Extremely light, balanced and uphill, he is already showing definite aptitude for the upper levels of dressage, both physically and mentally. Very baroque purebred looks, with beautiful expressive movement and an almost-iridescent burnished bay coat.

Audaz is a barn favorite, is like a big pet on the ground, and is accepting of everything presented to him. He is absolutely quiet and reliable, loves to work, and is sweet and affectionate towards people.

He has started all of his lateral work and counter canter. This horse is an absolute blast to ride!

Ghavotte (Sold)

8 year old 16.1hh Hanoverian broodmare by Gold Luck. Excellent breeding make her an asset to any breeding program, had a lovely filly in 2007 by Excelso. Easy to breed, very easy-going, sweet temperament. Great mother. Is sound, knows basic w-t-c, leg yields and shoulder in, but has not been in work for the last two years. 2007 filly has been weaned, mare is ready to be bred again for 2008, or to go back to work. Video available that was taken Nov 2006, shows w-t-c on the longe, she has lots of natural suspension and a very compliant attitude.

Rococo (Sold)

8 year olf 16.1hh Andalusian/Swedish Warmblood mare. Grey, very pretty and calm, nice mover, VERY comfortable. Has all lateral work and counter canter. Has been in school program for last 2 years. She will occasionally stop and look at strange things, but is very safe, has never bucked or bolted. Would not be suitable for an extreme novice or very timid rider, but if you have a limited budget and are willing to put time, patience and regular riding into this horse, she could be quite nice. Easy keeper, sound and healthy, vetted 2 years ago with xrays.

Valentina (Sold)

16hh 3 year old 15/16 Andalusian mare. This is one of the nicest horses we have started. She is by Excelso, who is consistently winning at Grand Prix, under such judges as 'O' judge Axel Steiner. She is out of the 7/8 Andalusian mare, Elegante Francesca. This mare is a full sister to a horse we sold a couple of years ago, Toros Bravos, who can be seen in a soon-to-be-released film, "The Lost Quixotes." Bravos is a 17.1hh beautiful copper bay.

Tina has an outstanding temperament; she never shies or misbehaves. Every day it is a pleasure to ride her. She works alone or with other horses, and has started lateral work and counter canter.

She has natural flying changes in the field and on the longe, like all of the Excel offspring. She is a beautiful mover, extremely comfortable to ride. Valentina has unlimited potential, with a solid 10 for disposition.
